My Art Travel Bag

I have had my art travel bag for a while now and thought it would be fun to share what I have in it and maybe give you some ideas.

This is my art travel bag Stacey--(I know, I give everything a name--lol).  I'm on the lookout for one that can snap on the outside instead of the inside as I tend to over stuff it--I luv a juicy overstuffed art bag!

In my bag I have the following:
  • decorative ribbon, fabric tape, washi tape
  • needles and decorative thread
  • scissors
  • ephemera, stickers, stamps, rub-ons
  • mini ink pad
  • sharpie color markers, white poster paint marker
  • brushes, spatula, craft stick for mixing and blending, make-up sponges
  • mini tubs of acrylic paint, glitter paint
  • liquid paint extender
  • Karat Aquarelle watercolor crayons , watercolor pencils, watercolor Yasutomo glitter paints
  • mini spritzer filled with water, empty vial for mixing, empty GUM toothpick container for mixing
  • labeled mini container of acrylic glaze, labeled mini container of gesso, labeled mini container of acrylic medium
  • eraser, pencil sharpener, mini blending stick in mini plastic bag
  • pack of small letter stamps
  • permanent glue stick, glue dots, Tombo liquid glue, Zig 2 way glue pen
I hope that if you haven't made one up yet this inspires you to make one up--it was so much fun putting all this together.  I really enjoy picking up my art bag filled chock full of yummy art candy and rummaging through it to see what goodies I could find.

Give Away!

To show my appreciation, starting August the very first person that follows me will get an adorable book called Plush You! The book contains lots of pictures and many instructions of toys to sew and stuff by Kristen Rask.  I posted a picture below.

All you have to do is join My Sweet Friends by clicking on the button that says Join this site.  Good luck to you all!

Be Brave

Here are some pics of the work I did for the Juliette Crane class.  I love the carefree style of making what I call "kiddy art."  I love collecting and making cute critters so I've been wanting to concentrate my energies to this type of art for some time now.  Also, it works well with my usual palette as well as neon colors, which I have recently grown fond of--it's so fun to play with these colors!

I'll continue to share my journey with you as I develop my own style. I'm just experimenting right now, so I'll continue to play until I get what I want.

I posted these in the hope that someone else might be inspired to share their work and inspire someone else as they learn and hone their own skills, even though their work might not be the best as they begin a new technique.  Be brave, we are all amateurs when learning something new.

Toodles,

XOXO

My Filofax Story

My hubby is a "techy" and has gifted me several computerized organizers over the years.  Since I am a tactile person I have always loved paper and ink and the computerized versions of an organizer have never not satisfied the "touchy feely" part of me.  For many years I used a personal organizer and somewhere along life's twists and turns I stopped doing so.

Recently I came across Filofax on YouTube.  They apparently have become the premier sellers of personal organizers taking over a good part of the business of Franklin Covey.   I immediately fell in love and ordered the Cuban in Italian leather.

Here are some pics of my beauty. I named her Coco.  The leather is so soft and smells wonderful.  The workmanship cannot be beat. I love it!  I went nuts buying her all sorts of accessories to dress her up--after all she will be going out with me most of the time and she has to look her best. (tee-hee)

I still have my Galaxy with all it's apps as a backup and a quick carry along, but I would never do without my new Filofax.

How exciting to receive my first Filofax!

Here is my beauty....

A few of the accessories I bought for her.

I'll share more pics once I finish dressing her up.....

XOXO

Reality Check

This is the latest book I read called Reality Check by Jen Calonita.  It was pretty fast paced and entertaining.  It's a good story about youth, friends, dreams, love, betrayal and the realities of the business world.  I give it a thumbs up!

If anyone would like to read it let me know.  I usually donate some of my books after reading them and I'm willing to let this one go to an interested reader.
